Tulsa Public Schools welcomed teachers at a special convocation Thursday and bid farewell to outgoing Superintendent Michael Zolkoski.
The event, meant to motivate and inspire educators as they prepare for the first day of school Monday, included remarks by TPS teacher of the year Joey Newsom and Todd Whitaker, an author and motivational speaker.
Zolkoski, the emcee, said he came up with the event's theme of "Get on Board" about six months ago, long before he and the school board reached an agreement f
