Robert Doyle Bullard is known as the “father of environmental justice.” Over three decades, he has been a prominent activist and scholar in the field of environmental justice, which encompasses land use, transportation equity, suburban sprawl, housing, minority health, regional equity, emergency response, and community preparedness.
Dr. Bullard is the former Dean of the Barbara Jordan and Mickey Leland School of Public Affairs at TexasSouthern University and currently serves as Distinguished Professor at the time of this writing. He has held academic positions at the following universities: Clark Atlanta University, University of California-Los Angeles, University of California-Riverside, University of California-Berkeley, University of Tennessee, Iowa State University, and Rice University.
